The abdominal pain was an 8/10. Percocet was horrible and did not help. The doctor ended up giving IV Dilaudud which was a miracle for me last night. I did wake up at 4am with excruciating gas pain in my chest and shoulders. I ended up getting something for gas, gabapentin, and norco.

Today I woke up and felt better but the gas pain is still so bad. I just got home- the ride home was bumpy and hurt. I did finally eat smthn after not eating for 2 days. I’m worried about passing a BM and it does hurt when I have to pee, more of a pressure type of pain.

I’m hoping tomorrow will be a better day.
Oh sweetie....I hate to hear that you are having such pain. I hope in the days to come you will feel less and less. I haven't had a BM either and am nervous as well....I also had a lot of pressure and discomfort when peeing, but it is gradually getting better (it just trickles out when I go and I KNOW there is more in there! Lol)
Praying that you start feeling better soon....take it easy and allow your body to heal. You've got this!!!!

I agree, the percoset did not touch the pain any more than the ibuprofen. I am experiencing multiple types of pain as well. See my post. I just don't know what is normal.
Wishing you a better tomorrow!

It's about 24 hours since my laparoscopic hysterectomy, kept both ovaries.
How do I know what is normal abdominal pain? It hurts when I move, sit up, walk, pretty much do anything. It seems like there are several types of pain in one area, the incision pain, constipation and gas pain, I even feel pressure/cramps near my lower rib cage and shoulder.
I can't lie on my side without pain/discomfort even with pillows. When I cough, I am worried I will mess up my healing.

I guess I just want to know... Is this normal? Dr said my abdomen is soft and cool and things look good.

On a positive note, I'm barely bleeding and my vagina is not sore at all at this point.

Sounds like we all are having the same symptoms. Did you all do out patient or stay in the hospital overnight? I am glad I was home but its kind of scary and lonely not having answers to what is normal especially the first night.
Yes, the gas is awful. I force myself to sit up and stand up or my husband helps me and once I burp I feel better. Gas x seems to be helping so my husband when and got that too. Tonight will be my second night. I wish I could lay on my side!!!!!

I wish I had stayed so i didn't have to suffer so much during the night have have unanswered questions about pain and swelling. It was a little scary.
My feet amd ankles are sooooo swollen today. Trying to drink lots of water.
I have a crazy appetite! I guess I'm grateful that I'm able to eat.
I wish I could cough but it hurts too much.
Is anyone using hear or ice or the tummy pillow?

I use a pillow. I really don’t think it helps that much for coughing. I started drinking peppermint tea. It has helped to loosen phlegm in my throat.

I’m on Gabapentin, Tramadol, Tylenol & Aleve. My pain level has been a 1, since I got home. I’m about to cut back on these medicines tomorrow. I cough lightly. No bowel movement yet.
