4 weeks post total hysterectomy & BSO: Sleeping Hot Flushes NHRT (recovering breast cancer patient)
Hello
Had laparoscopic vaginal assist total hysterectomy on June eleventh. I was not experiencing any menopausal symptoms prior to this surgery. Recovery has gone very well. However, night seven, I started waking with total hots flush, like a wave of heat but I am shivering cold (no sweat just clamy). It takes me a while to fall back to sleep, then when I am sleeping deeply it happens again. My air is on, the room is cool, a fan next to the bed, I have cooling sheets, light weight pj,s but still the waves come. I am no longer taking pain meds, not drinking alcohol. Almost four weeks post op and I have not had three solid hours sleep in a row without the 10-20 min wake up.
I have my in person post op appointment this Wednesday and would like to know what options or suggestions are out there for a recovering breast cancer patient in dealing with these. HRT or bio identical HRT are not a option.
Many Thanks!
