Yes, that was cute, Bopper. Phillipians just checked into a sisters 'chat' area and reported that she has been going full guns 8-9 hours a day prepping her classroom. Nothing but a little lower backache. I am soooooo jealous! But also sooooo happy for her. I must be gettin' too old to recover as quickly as I wish I could.

One last before I figure out what to make for dinner tonight. E.

Well, I survived day 2 at work. 6 hrs again and we don't work on fridays. I will return on Monday and will not attempt the 10 hrs till maybe tuesday. I am feeling good myself unlike yesterday, my first day back. I didn't have to lay down today. I am stronger each day. I last longer and sleep better than I did in months. I was in pain daily or every other day and couldnt sleep because of all the flutters and twinges everywhere in my belly. My belly has gone down and I lost 8 lbs. Now, if I can just lose inches. I still have days where I take a pill. Even though I am an advil girl, I spent money on those oxycodones. I take about 3 pills a wk if needed. The constipation is getting much better since i stopped taking them. I also eat prunes and still walk every other day. Each day is better than the day before. I mean, I still am careful, but feel alot better than getting a period in a couple of days. My nails even grew. Today is my 5wk post op.

I didn't think my memory was worse than before (not that it was that good before) until Sunday. At church, I went up to one of my 70+ lady friends, gave her a hug and said "How are you doing?" She said "Fine." As I started to walk away, I looked back and said "How are you doing?" She said I was too young to be that forgetful. I didn't think my memory was worse than before (not that it was that good before) until Sunday. At church, I went up to one of my 70+ lady friends. . . . Oh have you heard this before? :confuse:

I have to admit, I'm kinda glad I've been cut back to 3 hrs a day. I'm sure Our hrs will increase after the the powers that be figure out we can't do it on the hrs they cut us back to, I'm sure it will increase. I'm a little worried about washing the pans at work. We've got deeep sinks and I'm only 5'3". Not sure how that will work on the belly.

Oh yes, i can relate to the memory loss.....LOL LOL I "FORGOT" to mention that when I happily reported on the sister chat thread how great I was doing at almost 6 weeks post op. I too am a little forgetful. I guess i am so excited to be feeling sooooooooooo much better after having been in so much pain for such a long time that I forget the "little things" in comparison that are happening after surgery. For me, its not only my memory but also the strangest thing........I will begin a sentence and end it with a word that I wasnt necessarily thinking of saying or ending with a word that really has nothing to do with the rest of the sentence. Can anyone relate to that? That has happened to me several times at school. I had to let my friends know at work that this was happening just in case I come across as not making sense. really weird! but ah well, in the grand scheme of things, I am just so thankful not to be in pain and to feel happy about being able to work a full day without being miserable. understand?

Its been happening for me for a few years now. I even forget what someone said with in 30 seconds at times OH MY GOSH!

Forgetfulness

I always park in the very same spot at work. It's true I could lose my car prior to surgery. But the forgetfulness right now is not the same. And yes, I know what some of you mean about the wrong words coming out of the mouth. I just finished what I would call four 'mindless' laps around the townhouses...two miles on top of all the other activity I did today. I still feel like I did nothing. I pray I get 'normal' soon. I don't know how I tolerate all this movement now and couldn't sit still for a training at work. I think I will stand at the duty day meetings next Wednesday.

I always say goodnight and I'm not writing anymore and then I write some more.............and it's not because I forgot, but because you all post such interesting tidbits about recovery.

A good evening w/lots of healing to you all. I'm going to go try to focus on t.v......I've already missed the first hour and ten min. of a reality show I usually watch and it's the last night. So much for interest/concentration!

E.

Tomorrow it's five weeks for me and I'm still tired and hurting and fat :-(
Guess it's mostly fatigue tonight and I'll be back to cheerful tomorrow. Sigh. Good night all.

Isn't it great we're all in this together? My younger DD thinks I am losing it, my older DD thinks it's funny, and my DH is, well let's say, happy that I am in the same boat he's in - - Only thing, I have an excuse!

Good night everyone .. I am hoping to go to RI and hit the beach tomorrow!!!! WWHHHOOOPPPIIIEEEE!!!!
