HI Hyster Sisters,

Thanks
Cathy

Things I wish I had asked
Know Something - I started reading Hystersisters a week before my Op, and I don't think there was a thing I could have asked the Doctors and Nurses that I hadn't read about.
I was prepared for all the Pre-op surprises, Bowel Prep, or Enema, Shaving, Sedatives - I knew when I woke up I would have PA Morphine, A drip a catheter and perhaps a Drain, I knew that the first movement out of bed would be a nightmare but that once I was moving and in that shower I would be feeling a lot better.
I know that I have been one of the very lucky ones and my SAH went almost by the book - I've had no major complications and now at 6 weeks post op, I've read the book, been there and done it, and I FEEL GREAT!
GOod luck to you when you get there and if there's anything just ask!

Things I wish I had asked
I was on this site 3 months before surgery and learned a lot.
The only thing I wished I asked (and actually have the doctor answer) would have been what to expect during recovery in regards to discharge (how long, color, etc) - I wasn't told anthing really by him other than I would have some and then stitches would come out & I would have discharge then, so after a while I got used to discharge not knowing I had granulation!
