When Can I fly in a Plane

Hi all, my surgery is on the 6th November, Dr says I will be in hospital for around 3 days depending on how I feel. My husband is away working and hed like me to travel to see him around the 10th Dec, the flight will take approx 8 to 9 hrs. Is it wise to travel so soon after a hysterectomy? Love to hear from others that have.
Im getting pretty anxious now the days are getting closer to the big day, My eldest son (19)is taking me into hospital, going to be interesting to see how he and youngest (13)cope when I get home I have tryed to explain that I wont be able to do a lot for them they will have to help mum for a change.
Best wishes to all

When Can I fly in a Plane

I was able to fly 4 weeks post op a few years ago. But it was a much shorter flight (2 hours). The danger of course is blood clots from prolonged sitting not to mention the physical reaction your healing body might have to the pressurized cabin. Another concern is that you won't be able to tote any luggage or put anything in the overhead compartments. Is that a direct flight or would you have the chance to walk around at an stopover airport during the trip?
