4 months bladder and itching

I am 4 months post op. I was doing great and a month or two ago I started to have some vaginal itching. I went to the doctors. I didn't have any yeast, but did have a mild bacterial infection. I then took antibiotics and a back up pill for a yeast infection (from the antibiotics).

The itching hasn't gone away. Has anyone had this?? Also, my bladder seems to be getting worse. I feel like I have to constantly go to the bathroom. I can't completely empty my bladder. I don't have a uti, that was also tested!

Its driving me crazy!!

4 months bladder and itching

I could be your twin sister!!! I too have a bacterial infection and am taking Flagyl. I told my Gyn that I was digging myself raw. My bladder nightmare has been going on since surgery on9/7/04. Took every antibiotic and spasm pill known to man kind and nothing helped.

Went to the Urologist for a cystoscopy yesterday and let me tell you no one will ever convince me to undergo another procedure in a Drs office again. I was not supposed to feel anything and believe me I felt the Q Tip with the Zylocaine go in and I felt it come out and I felt the scope go in and I felt the water go in and I felt the scope come out. The whole time nearly jumping off the table and almost in tears. The Uro kept saying to his nurse "Why is she hurting, she should not be hurting." I said well it hurts like heck!!! He said OK OK I am taking the scope out. He had only been in there for maybe 2 or 3 minutes but it seemed like forever. Then he said that he was sorry but he could see nothing wrong with the bladder or the Urethra. He said he might have to put me in the hospital under General to take a better look around but for now he has scheduled and IVP for Thursday. I really think that he thinks it won't show anything but he said that MAYBE something is wrong up higher. Then he mentioned IC. I said that I had done a lot of research on it and he just smiled a smirky smile and said that it was hard to diagnose and it was the very last diagnosis he would come up with.

So now does he think I'm nuts and making all this up. You begin to get paranoid and think that everyone thinks there is nothing wrong. I guess in my mind I want some sort of concrete evidence or a name or something that I can tell myself and my DH that is really wrong with me.

Thanks for sharing. I sometimes feel like its always something and my dh is like what next!

I started to spot a little this morning, that was the first time since my surgery. I am not going to worry about it, he did say I'd have some, I just didn't think 4 months later.

I have had a cystpscopy and ivp, but it was years ago. They came up with this long name (I can't remember it) and said my muscles don't work like they should and nothing could be done about it. Well, after my surgery, I thought it was better (and it was for a while) then I started with this. I have put on weight so I sometimes wonder if it is that. I have to join WW after the Holidays!!!

I liked the scripture!!

God Bless and Merry Christmas!

4 months bladder and itching

I've noticed so very many women on here have bladder problems long after their hysterectomies. I was wondering if the NIH has ever thought of doing a study on long term bladder problems associated with hysterectomy? I know I could participate in it.

My gyn said that it really isn't normal to see bladder problems after 3 months.

Hope you have a wonderful and Pain Free Christmas!

4 months bladder and itching

I never did get over tenderness in my belly. At 3 1/2 months, I developed burning in the urethra and was treated for a UTI. I am on my third round of antibiotics. I am taking supplements (antioxidants, B vitamins, etc) for healing and stress. I know life is stressful, but I am eating well. I know I could get more sleep.

I wish I had known more about what to expect. My OB/GYN made me promise not to go onto the internet before my surgery. I can understand that reading these stories might make one fearful. But I also think it is good to know what problems might surface, so you don't have unrealistic expectations about how quickly you'll be back to "normal".

Bless us all!
