Home from hernia repair

Hi

Well, it took longer than two days in the hospital but that wasn't because anything went wrong. My incision is half the size of what my doctor thought it would be, there was only ONE hernia, not the several usually found in such situations and my anatomy is different enough (thankfully) from most that the mesh was able to be placed in the most optimum position instead of how they thought they would need to do it because of my missing omentum. All in all, things couldn't be better. I'm home with that smaller incision and four holes in my belly (three tacks and a drain) and I think they're coming out on Thursday when I see the doctor. I had two GREAT who also found a narcotic drug I tolerate very well. Pain management was great. Now I'm home and everybody on my side is hoping for an uneventful and good recovery.

Thanks to all of you for your support. Oh, I didn't put hearts on my tummy for Valentine's Day surgery, but I handed out valentines all over the hospital and it was a hoot!

I'm glad that things went so well. It sounds like things really worked out in your favor, I am so glad. Don't forget all of your princess training. We'll be looking forward to hearing from you again when you are feeling up to it.
