Tuesday March 2, Mom is 100!

Well we made it through today, had a nice in person visit and Zoomed with the family. Mom enjoyed it, and was surprised --several times during our thirty minute visit -- that it was her birthday. She asked how old she was, and I always make her calculate it for herself, so sometimes she gets it right, other times not. At one point she said "200?" and we all laughed, including her, and she sang "The Old Gray Mare, She Ain't What She Used to be" again. Tomorrow I will call to schedule next week's visit. Hoping that eventually I will get to go into her apartment and spend some real time with her, like before the caregiver comes in the morning, and then after they leave until bedtime. That's my ideal plan, anyway.

Food was kind of ridiculous, two small sandwiches and a lot of cookies. Not even good cookies, but I had to keep trying them to be absolutely sure that they had no taste My baking at its worst. I had made a last minute alteration and was pretty sure it was a mistake, but I figured why not? Hubby will finish them if I can keep away from them. I'd been doing so well until today, but I just was antsy about the first visit to Mom in so long, had to do something, so I baked. Should have taken a walk instead. Fortunately the neighbor guys took themselves out of quarantine today and invited me back to walk with them again. Yay!

B - cheese sandwich, cookies
S- cookies
L - brisket sandwich, cookies
D - a real apple and some plain yogurt
Ex - one walk, total of 3.5 miles on the watch - I'm falling behind!

Oh desk that is amazing! Happy birthday to your dear mother! So glad you got a visit! Well cookies, could be worse I guess. Can’t be perfect, right?

Salad today at least. Very busy day at work. Exhausted and more tasks tomorrow.

Cookies??? Oh, I hear you......awful last two days of eating, stress eating. I'd better go check to see if we have any of those Orange sugar wafers left................
