Any have acrylic on nails?
Do any ladies go have their nails done, and have acrylic on them? I am wondering if I have to get the acrylic off prior to having the surgery? Or just the nail polish?
Any suggestions would help. Thanks!

Any have acrylic on nails?
I only had to have the polish taken off. They need to be able to get an accurate pulse-ox reading...the little clamp thingy they put on your index finger...

Any have acrylic on nails?
Hi, I was told that I couldn't have any polish or acrylic nails for my surgery. But, I've seen posts here that they were allowed, sometimes with just one nail left natural. I think that you should call your hospital and ask about their requirements. The restrictions do seem to vary.
Best wishes.

Any have acrylic on nails?
I was unaware that this was an issue, as if I not going to already be feeling ugly and very unsexy lets take away my acrylics. do you know if this is required by ALL hospitals?

RE: Nails
I had my full set of gorgeous nails on, as a matter of fact...I had my nails and feet done right before surgery because I knew I wouldn't be getting them done for a few weeks. My hospital allowed it!

Any have acrylic on nails?
That is a good question, thank you for bringing it up. As far as I am concerned no nails no surgery All kidding aside my surgery date is coming fast - 1 week 2 days and I am so scared and I do not know why. I think it is the after life that make me worry. Take care and good luck.

Any have acrylic on nails?
I asked my Dr. about my acrylic nails and polish on my toe nails. She said it was okay. I'm going to ask again tomorrow at my pre-surgery appointment at the hospital just make sure. I don't know if it's the Dr. or the aneathesiologist that makes the decision. Seems like it would be the aneathesiologist. Good luck to everyone!

Any have acrylic on nails?
I am going to ask my DR next week when I see him, maybe he will know. I hate to do away with them. At least that is one thing that will make me feel good afterwards....at least something pretty and cheerful to look at! When I had laps done I got to keep my nail polish on, and they just needed the nail polish off the toenails. They need to see the color of the nail beds too, from what I heard.
But here we are dealing with major surgery and was wondering if those requirements are different. I go in the 19th of Feb and am terrified!! I am trying to keep busy and get everything done before hand.
I just had a rootcanal done today ....UGH! Pain pain pain ...seems there is no end to that!

I had acrylic nails and clear nail polish for my surgery. They never said anything about it.

Any have acrylic on nails?
Every hospital has its own set of rules and procedures. My instructions were written out and crystal clear - no polish and no acrylics. Actually nothing whatsoever, not even lotion or deodorant the morning of surgery.
