Calcification in uterus

Okay - saw the doctor today and also had a pelvic ultrasound to try to get to the bottom of all this heavy bleeding & cramping I am having. I was told there are small follicular cysts on both ovaries (which are essentially nothing out of the ordinary) - but there was an area of calcification in the uterus. Dr thinks this is due to just some old bleeding - but I am a little more concerned. This is my 2nd opinion dr, and the 1st one recommended a hyst (LAVH) for probable adenomyosis. Could this calcification be indicative of adenomyosis? I also have read a lot about fibroids and calcifications being connected. Does anyone know if this is true? I really went into the appointment today thinking I was pretty firm in my mind that I wanted to go ahead & schedule the hyst - but then, as my 2nd opinion doc and I talked more about it, I chickened out and decided to keep going on the continuous oral contraceptives - which I've been doing for 2 cycles now and it's seemingly not helping at all, the bleeding and cramping has not changed a bit. I am so frustrated and indecisive!
