Weight loss/gain?

Oh, I hope I get such good news! I've been trying to lose for the last ten years--put on 20 in that time, even watching my diet and looking for exercise at any excuse. With hpb, I have to watch what I eat for salt, and with salt in nearly everything, that really cut back my intake.

Thing is, Oscar is pressing against something that makes my hip hurt, and I can't breathe well, plus my center of gravity is off, so exercising is harder than it should be. DH has been saying for years that the stomach is the only real bad spot I've got (he's a little biased, of course, but if I have the light behind me, I can still see my old figure in the mirror). If I just lose ten by the the third week, when I'm able to walk around, maybe I can get back within spitting distance of what I should weigh.

I'm wayyyyyy too close to 200 now.

Weight loss/gain?

Ladies I can relate! I am not "big" but when I met my hubby 18 yrs. ago I was around 130. I am 5'8" and am now at 165. I know for my height that is not bad, but I know the extra is there. I too hope that my belly will go down a bit and stay there! At 40 (almost - b-day will be celebrated in the hospital) EVERYTHING is going south! I just hope to have more energy and not feel so tired, weak ect. after surgery. I am a busy person. I am in the process of training for an opportunity to take a deputy director position with our local Emergency Man. Agency - the 6 wks. off will help for the book reading. I am already working on furthering my Search And Rescue certification. I just hope no one goes missing while I am on recovery. Sorry to get off track. We will all come out on top! Best of Luck to all!

Weight loss/gain?

I've been on Weight Watchers for awhile & have lost 30 lbs. I have about another 30 to go. I told my DH & DD that since they are in charge of cooking for a few weeks that I better not gain weight. The dr. is taking stuff out so I better be lighter the next time I weigh in. If I stick to my daily points I should be fine. I'll miss my 2 mile walks but I'll work my way back to them.

Weight loss/gain?

Hi, I weighed the same on my pre op appt as I did on my post op. During the six weeks of recovery I walked every day and stayed on my regular eating plan that has helped me take off 145 pounds since March 2005. I started losing again about two months after surgery.
Since I was less active during recovery I didn't eat as much and made healthy choices. I learned a lot about portions is the castle esp. what a portion of chicken is and how much soup is a portion, etc. Kind of eye opening.
During 6 weeks of recovery I particularly ate well thinking of healing and health. I took much better care of myself because I had the time to do it.
Take care. Lorri

Weight loss/gain?

Kudos to you for the weight loss! I'm on that banwagon about them taking something out so it should shed a few lbs from me LOL

I really do hope that after it's all said and done I will lose some especially once my recovery is over b/c I should feel better and have more energy since I won't be bleeding 1/2 of every month

Weight loss/gain?

I've lost 3.5 pounds since surgery 5/23, but I've been moving more lately and eating more, so I have got to start watching it again. I need to lose 50 pounds. I think you will be fine post surgery with weight and all.....I'm a strong believer that absent certain medical conditions/medications, we can all lose weight with diet and exercise regardless of age or menopause.

Weight loss/gain?

I am 2 months post op Lap/ Hyst. I lost about 7 pounds the first week, I have always been in the 130 range at 5"5. Yesterday I went to the doc feeling all around crappy, hot, not sleeping, bloated, worried about my thinning hair, and depressed.(Long enough list??) I was up to 144 pounds!! I have not changed my diet and I have a 2 year old that keeps me running. I do not understand what the heck is going on!! I was taking 1Mg oral Estradiol a day. He sent me over to his NP who is also a "Hormone specialist" in my county. She then put me on .0375 Vivelle Dot, and 100Mg Prometrium. She feels that the hair loss is a lack of Progesterone. She seems to know what she is talking about, wants to talk to me every other day to track how I am feeling and adjust my hormones if needed. She also recommened Bio Identical compounds in the future, anybody have experience with those?? I would love feedback. My concern is the thinning hair at 32 Y/O, and the signifigant weight gain!! Please if anybody has suggestions I would love to hear them!!

Weight loss/gain?

I started taking steroids about five years ago, put on tons of weight too, then after the lupron gained another 20...ughhhh, I hope that the surgery will be a friend to my waistline. I'll also keep good thoughts that the rest of you ladies come out w/the desired weight gain or loss.
