back to work, standing?

Hi Missy

I do hair also.
I had a TAH, and was back to work 1 day before my 5 week mark. I haven't had any issues with standing. Just a little tired at the end of the day. I also don't have a set schedule. I started out with 2 clients a day (color, hair cut, style, and another haircut) and worked my way up from there. All is good now, and I put in 8 hrs on Saturday and then went dog training.

Best Wishes

back to work, standing?

Hi Missyhairlady,
I work in a hospital and am on feet the majority of the day. When standing, I put one foot on a footstool so my knee is bent and switch legs from time to time. This helps take the pressure off my pelvic floor and low back. I also have an adjustable height sitting stool on wheels and try to sit as much a possible when I can. Best wishes!!

back to work, standing?

Hi Missy -
I am going back to work tomorrow. I sit behind a computer most of the day, and the only times I really need to be up walking around it to go to meetings or the bathroom. I think I will try to be a princess at work and see if I can get people to bring me my coffee and lunch, ha ha ha. Fat chance of that :-)

My work is stressful and hectic, so it will be more mentally draining than anything else, plus I have an hour commute each way.

I'll let you know on Thursday how it goes! I will try to take it very easy these first few days. I know that if I was going to be on my feet all day I would be waiting at least another week to go back.

back to work, standing?

I had a TLH 01/31 and my job consists of standing, walking, stretching, lifting objects and climbing ladders and a lot of driving. I spoke with my DR and I was told that I could not go back for at least 4 weeks post-op. However, I was told that it all depended on how I was feeling since everyone recovers differently. Only you will know if you are ready to go back and for how long. Good luck!
