Hi Sharon,
My dr. also told me two weeks for a bath. It probably depends on what all you had done and how. I think the biggest worry about taking a bath too soon is infection.

Thanks for the note Tulip...I am trying to be positive and never expected such a heavy clear watery discharge and never knew the top of my vagina would be open...I had a TAH. It sounds like it is healing by what you describe and that makes me feel better...so again thanks and I will let you know how it goes. Big hugs to you for responding!

If anyone out there had a vaginal hyster, please let me know if you bleed a little bit when the stitches start to dissolve. Also I have lots of cramping too. I am into my 8th day since surgery. Thanks Much!

I'm relieved that I have not had any more clear watery fluid from my vagina! So far it's just yellow with red tinge. Having trouble falling asleep at night though and I think it's because I can't do much right now. I'm doing dishes and light duties as I can but I agree with you cidwolf, this "do nothing ness" is a shock to the body! I try to keep focusing on how I'll feel when all this is over!

Pumpkin Pies or Prunes??

The feeling okay one day and crummy the next is not fun. Today I thought I would clean and make pumpkin pies but this morning I woke with vaginal pain and really constipated. I just drank some Milk of Magnesia and ate a handful of prunes. Yesterday I drove for the first time and was a nervous wreck to the point of almost crying. I'm hoping to be able to get back to my real estate clients next week but I just never know if I'm going to have a good day or bad day when I wake up. I've developed a deeper appreciation for my husband because he is just has been so understanding of this roller coaster okay one day crummy the next day feelings. I've not had any what I would consider bad days for a long time but just uncomfortable. I will just be so happy to feel NORMAL again!

Just got back from my post-op appointment, and the Dr says I'm doing great! He feels that the relaxation & guided imagery exercises and listening to music during the surgery made a real difference in how my surgery went and how I'm healing. Yay! So all that reading, running around trying to find the right music CD to listen to, taking supplements, & doing my relaxation/imagery exercises was worth it! I can swim now, which I'm so glad about. I still have a little pain when I walk around too much, & towards the end of the day, but it's getting better each day. Any sisters that are still hurting a lot, try sending positive & healing vibes to your surgery site (along with your medication if you need it)--I swear it helps!!

I hope all sisters and their families have a happy Thanskgiving, and just know that next Thanksgiving we'll feel muuuuuch better than we do now!

I have my Post Op appointment on Friday. I am feeling pretty good and I'm glad to see others are too. I feel so much lighter! My pain when I urinate seems to be going away on it's own. I will discuss with doctor. Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving.
