Pre-op Jitters

I go in for my LAVH(laparoscopically assissted vaginal hyster-everything coming out)or I may wake up in recovery with a long inscission across my belly as well. it's 12:55am eastern time,i can't sleep! i go in for 6am i need to be there 430am for them to pre prep me.i been on 'house restrictions'i have some congestion in my chest/lung areas.i think being home bound 24/7 had a tad do with me being restless.i have read other post -seeing that i'll more than make up this lack of sleep i been experiencing these last few weeks-last few days been really bad!
i have tried warm milk about 8pm it did relax me,but then i became restless,wide awake.so i got up and paced,read several chapters,watched boring movies-even cnn channel!hahaha....
they told me friday -day after my pre op visits to all-that everything has to come out and this will make recovery a little slower, due to way they doing it-my appendix a bonus i call it :-) hahaha....
i wanted to thank all of you for your advice!!! it 'ALL'helped out trmendously! i'm all packed and ready to go,the list/advice helped me not to OVER pack!. I have cried so many tears, scared mostly now. i am so grateful to be able to share these with others who know.by tomorrow morning i will become pre op :-) and will most likely be reading away many other post for guidance-help-advice :-) dr.'s say i should be home by weds-no later than friday.
we grabbed 2 traveling pillows-just in case.but i am very very lucky-it's only about a 5 minute trip there to hospital :-) red lights about 3 of them :-( he'll bring my over nights bag to me once i'm settled in my room.they want to place me in a solitary room if iam congested just as a precaution.i hope not i'm looking forward to a roomate to help time go by quicker :-) i packed:slippers-hair brush-ponytails(my hair is almost to my waist)-head band-6 books(2 are from my favorite author laurell k hamilton)-2crossword puzzle books-2 search a words-shampoo/conditioner-deodorant-night shirt/robe-deck of cards-paper/envelopes pre filled-tooth brush/tooth paste-all my rings to put back on.there may be more i not thinking clearly hahahaha.... cool~it's 1:20am. not much longer now :-) i'm getting more impatient i think? i have bedroom windows opened up-i can hear someones car alarm goi ngoff-it's been over 11 minutes-oh here th epolice arriving.i go peek see if i can see them.brb.yup-they parked right below my bedroom window! store alarm under our apt.was set off! scanner letting me hear it :-) part of living in city-we moved here just over 1 year ago and i not used of it yet.hahahaha....
ok, i go watch movie"inspector gadget'.take care all.i will let ou knoe how all went when i get back home-sooner if i can get to a computer in hospital!hahahaha....have nice week and wish all a nice recovery :-)
