coloring my hair?

Hey there, we're having our surgeries the same day. I thought the same thing, but you know, I just got mine done about 3 weeks ago, and the roots are still remaining udner ground hehe I am going to have her shampoo it and blow it dry straight though, it will make it easier, for me, anyway, for a few days, so I don't have to wash it right away.
All the best to you with your surgery!

coloring my hair?

Hi ladies I'd recommend coloring your hair before the surgery, because the color can "take" differently during the first few weeks post op. Here's a link with more info:

Good luck with your surgery!

go for the works!

My vote would be cut and color, mani & pedi, and anything else you can afford! Look gorgeous because it will be awhile before you can drive yourself to the salon to get those things done, and if you do have a driver available you may fall prey to doing practical things like errands! I'm two weeks almost and am plotting when I will be able to walk to my nail place(2 blocks) be able to sit for an hour or so and walk back. I'm looking at Thursday,
Yours, in need of a fill in,

Good Morning

I also vote rfor befor, I just had mine done last night and I feel so much better. I can look at my self and not see the grey, even though SO says I'm the only one who saw it. Was well worht the $50. Pamper your self, you will be glad you did.

coloring my hair?

I colored mine before I went in. I do it myself at home and didn't think I'd be up to it after.

One thing I wasn't aware of is that my hospital did not want any dark polish on my fingers or toes. If you have a mani/pedi go with a sheer color or clear.

Good Luck on your trips to the castle

coloring my hair?

I got a perm right before surgery (3 days prior) and it was the best thing I could've done, but everyones bodies are different.

coloring my hair?

Funny someone should bring this up because I have an appointment for cut and color on 3/14 and my surgery is 3/21. I was thinking about taking friday off from work in advance to do the nails and pedicure but I was also concerned about if they would remove the polish so they can see my nails. Can I just do a light color?

Also, I was thinking about going for the bikini wax since they're going to shave anyway I thought i would just take care of that in advance. Can anyone tell me how low they make the incision? I would hate to wax and then have to still have some shaved.

Can anyone help?

azsunn, glad I saw your post. I had been wearing red for months, I got a pedicure today, and ladies, it was fabulous, if you are able to get one before going to the castle, I highly recommend it! I got an extra 15 minutes of massage, and painted a light pink with a light design and a heart on my big toe. It was so relaxing. I wasn't told anything about polish for the surgery, so who knows, my toes will be covered up anyway
pdc, I would think that you could do a light color, I get the French manicure, so they can see right through my nails if need be. The incisions on my other 2 surgeries were right above the pelvic 'line', in the the belly-button, and if my surgeon does a laparatomy, he'll make one in my side. I thought about the shaving thing tonight, I think I'll just leave it for them to take care of!

Best of wishes to all

FYI: no polish restrictions

Just an FYI: I had no polish restrictions. I had hot tamale red on my toes, and LCN permenant french gel on my fingers. I asked in pre-op if they were going to remove any of it(I really didn't want the LCN to go)and they laughed! They said, "Um we're a little more high tech on monitoring you than checking your nails to see if you're crashing".
