Hi Everyone! I am new to the group and I am so happy to have found you!!!
My surgery is this Tuesday - well that is if we do not go into a city lock down here on Monday that is.
Either way I still should be ready so I am nesting right now getting my bedroom and bathroom ready. So Monday all I have to do is take it easy. I think I am going to take a long walk with my dog.
So for all the Ladies having surgeries this week know “You have to look at the future with positivity. It’s time to leave the negativity from your body. The doctors will do whatever is necessary for your body. Keep in mind that all is well. Best wishes for your surgery! You will do great!

Hi all! Having my surgery 4/14. Hopefully laparoscopic (robotic) but I've got an 11cm fibroid and no births so if it doesn't all fit that way, she'll switch to open.
Think I've got everything I need for in hospital and recovery; getting my covid test tomorrow and then a 10am check-in for my 12:30 surgery on Wednesday.
Urinalysis tests show changes in my urine and blood tests show my kidneys look affected too by all the extra stuff pushing against my bladder, and I'll just be glad to say goodbye!

Dear Sisters,
I’m just dropping by to cheer you on. ❤️.
For some of us, the scariest part is waiting for the big day, but we are here to cheer you on, You are stronger than you think - you can and will do this! Have confidence in yourself and in the skill of your surgeon. Try to think of the big picture - and that this surgery will one day be a memory that symbolizes your strength. ❤️
It really does help to keep busy doing things you enjoy and surrounding yourself with positive friends and family. Even if you can’t physically be with those you love, try Face Time or chatting through social media. You are in the home stretch. Staying positive can help reduce stress.❤️
Take care and know you are not alone on your journey.
TIPS:
Travel light for the hospital and remember comfy clothes and shoes to wear home from the hospital.
Also remember a small pillow to wear under your seatbelt for the ride home. Additionally, this pillow will also help cushion the blows of little people and rambunctious pets, coughs, laughing and sneezing. You may also benefit by having several small pillows available for resting in bed.
Sometimes, for those of us not used to sleeping on our sides, a long body pillow may prove the most comfortable. Or possibly a recliner with lots of squishy pillows.
Today is a great time to double-check your "recovery nest" to make certain you have the items you need at your fingertips. Getting out of bed can prove a bit challenging at first, so you may want to have a bed rail, or, a sturdy chair or small table to steady you as you get up. Remember those non-slip slippers for marching around the house. Have light reading next to your bed and your favorite movies.
And don't worry about anything you didn't get to clean or errands you didn't get to - concentrate on all you have accomplished to get this far.
Best of luck all. ❤️

Pre-Op Hysterectomy: Open House Chat Thread - Today Apr 11, 2021
Good morning everyone,
These forums have been a big help, def. make me feel better. I am having a robotic assisted TLH, keeping both ovaries on 4/13. I have endo, horrible cycles with debilitating cramps all my life, 9 fibroids (1 to 2.5 cm each), enlarged uterus, and urinate ALL of the time. I am so ready to be pain free and feel good.. it’s been a long time coming! I should have had this procedure done 5 years ago, but I still couldn’t decide about having children. Still hope I am making the right decision. Sending lots of hugs and good vibes to everyone this week!

Hi all. I have endo, pcos, a fibroid for good measure... this will be my third surgery related to endo and cysts... i am having a hysterectomy, removal of remaining ovary, tube, and cervix. I am having laproscopic, vaginal hysterectomy on friday. I have tried everything, got a second and third opinion... i like my dr a lot...he did my last surgery and is an excision specialist. but I am still scared! I think being a mom of a young kid just makes this all feel really heavy... and i feel guilty for how much the first surgery especially scared her. I was super scared for the first surgery... did ok with the second but now I am super scared again. Cleaning and gardening and doing school work (i am a teacher) to distract myself... listening to meditation tapes at night, exercising, etc. just a ball of nerves.
