Anyone else need estrogen even with overies ?

I had a hysterectomy at 24, kept overies but took tubes and cervix and uterus, I’m
Now 35, last two years I started having hot flashes, fatigue, loss of interest and anxiety, my doctor stated blood work would be unreliable seeing as how levels can change day to day and that she wanted me to try low dose estrogen patch .375 and if it helped to stay on it. I was under the impression my overies would continue to function normally but I feel like my hormones were never the same after surgery. Anyone else keep

If you keep your ovaries you still go through natural menopause. Unfortunately for some it happens earlier than the mid 50s

Yes, I kept one ovary and still needed HRT. My case may be a little unusual though since I was already menopausal by a year when I had my surgery. Also my doctor suspected when my hormone levels dropped so much it was due to my remaining ovary never returned to functioning. That said I’m on estradiol patch and testosterone cream.
