Re: Breeds?

I have a French Bulldog.

After 15 years in animal medicine, I had a long time to choose a dog that fit my family. THey call them clown dogs for a reason. He is silly, funny, but also lovable and gentle....Also only 23 pounds and travels FABULOUSLY!

Before him I had a labrador. No reason to even go into why I had her, she was perfect in every way God rest her soul....

I prefer males due to their playfulness. Females tend to become more standoffish and not as playful as males.

Smile - Breeds? Re: Breeds?

We have a black lab/mix(alot of lab, a little of the "mix"), 80 lbs., he is loving and Daddy's boy. He was a shelter rescue and is such a sweet, good dog (except when he won't get off the bed! He is 2 years old.
We also have and AKC Springer Spaniel who is crazy, but very loving and is Mommy's boy. The two are like book ends.
Don't we love our babies?

Re: Breeds?

I have the most beautiful 1 year old female pug, she is my little princess, the daughter I never had. My hubby thinks she is the ugliest thing ever, but I think she is absolutely beautiful. She snorts and snores, and I think that just adds to her cuteness! I love, love, LOVE her!!!

Re: Breeds?

I have a 6 year old female snorfleed Yellow Lab, Harley. My husband got her so I could have something to be maternal with, I guess it worked too good, I was pregnant 2 months later. She is our 80 lb lap dog.

Re: Breeds?

Hi, I have a Chihuahua called Koko that i love to bits. She is a fawn coloured short coat. I bought her when we lived in Houston, she then went back to Australia and now she lives in an apartment in Santiago Chile. She is a well travelled little girl.
I prefer females over males but love all dogs. I have also had Westies which are a truly loyal and loving breed. Had a Basenji but she was scared of her own shadow. No matter what a dog loves you and to me are the most wonderful things in the world!!!

Re: Breeds?

I have 3 wonderful dogs. They are my babies (after my daughter of course).

The oldest is a Siberian Husky, 6 1/2 years old. She is a huge fuzz ball that weights about 65 lbs. She sheds all of the time. She is my step-dogther. She came into my life 2 years ago when DH and I were married.

Next, is Maya. Even though I shouldn't have favorites, she is my fav. She is a 13" Beagle. She has a special place in my heart because I almost lost her a week after I got her. She was attacked by another dog and almost bled out before we could get her to the emergency vet. She is now 17 months old. We have been through several training classes together.

The youngest is Molly, another 13" Beagle. She is only 6 months old. We have nicknamed her "The Bullet" because she runs very fast. Even though she has the speed, she needs to learn to turn faster. She keeps running into things. All I can do is sit there and laugh.

I have fallen in love with the beagle. They are very compassionate dogs. They are loyal and love companionship. Beagles are great at clowning around. There is not a day that goes by that I am not laughing because of my two girls. They are the best.

Re: Breeds?

In January I was adopted by a male Yorkie. He was a rescue dog and I fell in love with him when I visited his foster mom. When my Cocker Spaniels died ten years ago, I had made up my mind to not have another dog. But when I met this little guy, I changed my mind. Now I can't imagine life without Buddy.

The first few days I was home after my surgery I spent most of the day sleeping and he was curled up on my lap with me.

Re: Breeds?

How sad that your Westie doesn't like to play! My sister has three, and they are all very playful.

My Yorkie loves to play, alone, with me, with other dogs (sometimes)
