Any May sisters out there?

Daisylin and Oceandancer, I'm with you two in that I don't have chronic pain, more just discomfort and extreme exhaustion. As much as I'm dreading the feeling-hit-by-a-bus aftermath, I'm almost looking forward to rest in some wierd way. I guess also I'm assuming that I will have everything in order by then - LOL! But I agree, I appreciate that I haven't been truly suffering as a lot of the ladies have.

Me too!

Daisylin and Ocean dancer:
I'm in the same boat, I don't go through the troubles part anymore, so it's harder for me to get motivated for the surgery. Today is my pre-op and I hope I hear no bowel prep and polish ok.'s a couple of positives. Also no more internal exams or vaginal ultrasounds! YAY! I'm looking forward to spending a couple of weeks just reading...and watching the flowers grow. It is a beautiful time of year here in PA.I'll post later and let you know about the polish for me!

Any May sisters out there?

Scheduled for the 29th. I'm keeping busy already. Trying to get things organized at work and get help for me there while I'm gone. I feel like doing a MAJOR spring cleaning ~ windows... the whole bit. Kinda like ... starting fresh!

Any May sisters out there?

Violet50 - I wish had flowers to watch. My front flowerbed has been destroyed. Pulled out overgrown bushes and now don't have time before my trip to the castle to replant. What part of PA do you live in? I'm in Baltimore County, MD - 45-60 minutes from Lancaster, 93 miles from Philly. Sounds like a party is in order later this summer.

Any May sisters out there?

Had the Pre-op with my OB-GYN last week. She didn't say anything about polish, so my toes are still a nice rosy pink. But the whole enema thing has to be done - yuck! I just want to be done with it. Luckily, I have lots to do before the 15th, so won't have much time to stew. I'm traveling (for work) to Anchorage, AK next week, then come home to go straight to the Castle.

Not much going on in my flowerbeds here in New Hampshire, my forsythia is the only thing brave enough to bloom. The daffodills and tulips are up, but not blooming. Shoots of lupine and columbine, so perhaps they will be blooming while I'm recovering. Spring is coming so late, and I'm so ready for it right now!

back from pre-op

Good afternoon sisters. Just had my pre-op this morning. The doctor figures surgery to be 1 to 11/2 hours providing there are no complications. I am having a TAH with RSO. He told me that my right ovary is "really stuck" to the pelvic wall and also my bladder is stuck to my uterus. I asked him if this was common with the bladder being stuck. He said it's not uncommon but he doesn't see it all that often. Has anyone else ever encountered this? 13 days til my visit to the castle and one last period to go. Go figure that I would have to get that last aunt flo in there. LOL
Hugs to all ! --Patti

Scheduled for total hysterectomy May 14

Hello, new to site! I am having a total hysterectomy on the 14th. After years of chronic pelvic pain, infections, ovarion cysts, two surgeries and a c-section, I decided to have a hysterectomy. I have been to the ER at least twice a year for the last 5 years for ovarian cyst pain and illness and decided enough is enough. I have a three year old daughter, am 42 and am grateful for the her, but not planning on having anymore because of how long it took to get pregnant and carry full term to begin with. Any words of wisdom is appreciated as alittle scared but excited as I am anxious for the pain to go away!

Thank you, I have had several surgeries down there, but nothing nearly this drastic. Thank you for the help. That is a good way to put things into perspective.
