Any other Kindle owners?

My Kindle has been a lifesaver during my recovery!! I am absolutely addicted to my Kindle.

I live in a remote, smaller town without access to a bookstore. Now I can get New York Times bestsellers delivered wirelessly to my Kindle in 60 seconds!! Love it.

Anyone else a Kindle addiction??

Re: Any other Kindle owners?

NOT YET! I would LOVE to own a kindle but have yet to purchase one. There are soo many different takes on them. I am an avid reader and really just need that kind of instant access to books. I am currently waiting for a book from the book store to arrive. I am sooo tired of WAITING....what's the memory on a kindle (GIGS)?

Re: Any other Kindle owners?

The version I have will hold 1500 books on the device. Your Amazon account will hold 3000 books that you can recall back to the device. NY Times Best Sellers are mostly $9.99, much less than book stand prices. You can also get a lot of free books. A lot of the classics are free, and new authors will post their books for free attempting to get a following.

Depending on the author, some books allow Text to Speech, and you can also download music on the Kindle to listen to while you are reading. The battery life without the wireless on is about 10 days for me. The wireless feature drains the battery quite quicky, but you only need it on when shopping for new books.

Several newspapers and magazines are also available on Kindle for less than you pay on the newsstand. Reader's Digest is only $1.50 per month.

I research heavily prior to Christmas and chose the Kindle.

Re: Any other Kindle owners?

I don't have one, but was researching Kindle's this past weekend. My hubby & I are starting a new job soon, cross country hot shot driving & think I might like to have one on the road. I also live in a small rural town with no stores (walmart, etc) closer than 15 miles, anything else is more like 45+ miles. Glad to see that someone posted about them, Than you for the info!!!

Re: Any other Kindle owners?

thanks for the info...we may have to invest. I did just get an iphone so I may have to wait for a while for that to "die down" before hubby will let me splurge again. ;-)

Any other Kindle owners?

I am an e-reader addict too! I have a CRUZ, android reader! It is awesome! And it has a backlight, so I can read at night with the lights out. I even took mine to the hospital for reading post- op.

Re: Any other Kindle owners?

Total TLH on 6/6, My Friend gave me his kindle to use. I always read before I went to bed, but being a single mom, working full time, I would hit the bed and be asleep. I picked up the kindle and there was no turning back. The free books are great. When there is down time, nothing on tv or not on the internet, I pick up the kindle and the time goes buy quickly. I might have to buy one form myself.

Re: Any other Kindle owners?

LOVE my kindle! I also took it to the hospital--perfect for those nights when it is hard to sleep. I am glad I purchased a light before surgery. I keep it with me so I can read while waiting for a doctor's appointment.
