surgery scheduled

Well, after months of thinking I finally decided to go ahead with having a hysterectomy. It is scheduled for June 8th. I wanted to schedule it as close to school being out as possible so there isn't really anything for me to do. Kids are 13,8 and 6. There are many fibroids and my uterus is getting larger. Right now it is at the stage of a 16 week pregnancy. I feel good about my decision. The only concern, and I don't know if I really should be concerned, is the fact that my Dr told me that there may be alot of scar tissue from my 3 c-sections that he may have to remove my cervix as well. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm glad that he did prepare me for this because it would have been a big surprise. Glad that I can now be part of these boards!

I am glad you are part of theses boards too. You will learn alot and get a lot of support too. I know that the cervix needs to be taken out sometimes because of scar tissue. I had a c-section too. I don't think that is why he took it out because he didn't say anything about it. I am sure everything will be fine though.

I had a lot, too, due to my 4 csections, but I was able to keep my cervix. The only real difference was I was in surgery about a hour longer than anticipated, but all worked out OK.
