Re: honkerblonked off and crying

Oh, sweetie

I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. I also waited for three months before having my surgery. Although it was my own choice, there were times when the pain I was experiencing made it difficult.

Every time I was in pain, I tried to think of it as confirmation that I'd made the right decision. It didn't help the pain, but it did help my emotional coping a bit.

Are there any pain medications that help take the edge off the pain for you? Perhaps you could get a prescription for that to help you through. Also, let things go other than what absolutely has to be done. If you need to come home from work and lie down with a heating pad instead of washing the kitchen floor, then that's what you should do. Take care of yourself as much as you can, and that will help a little.

I'm sending you extra bit

tigger - Can you go back to your family doctor and get a referral to another gyno that will do the surgery faster? Even if you have to travel a little bit, it would be worth it. By the way, what is the story behind your health card?

Re: honkerblonked off and crying

If you go to the Government office that issues the health cards, they will issue you a temporary card if the one you have isn't valid or here is a toll free number that you can call: 1-800-664-8988. (Hubby just looked it up in the phone book for you) =)

I am glad that you are seeing a new doctor as you shouldn't have to wait that long for surgery. I was put on the priority list (not the urgent list) and had my surgery in one month. You sound like your issues are much more urgent than mine. I was in no pain but I did have an extended stomach and my bladder couldn't hold more than a quarter cup at a time. So I am hoping that this new doctor will speed things up for you.
