No Date: Still Waiting...Furious!

Well, they had my LSH scheduled for April 30th and a week or so before I got a letter from my insurance company saying that they denied it because of my age. I was FURIOUS!! Was in the ER nearly two weeks ago because the pain is so bad I am in tears and can hardly do anything...they shot me with a low dose of morphine and sent me home on bed rest. Follow up with my gyno and they say, "You need a hysterectomy." DUH!! That's what you've been saying...now get it approved!!! They still have me on bed rest. Of course, I am a single mom who also is supposed to be caring for my mother...can't exactly rest all the time, so things have been stressful. Having to wear adult diapers for my periods now, they've gotten that bad. My stomach is bloating, I look 9 months pregnant at times...doc says it's the endometriosis...it sucks. I sincerely hope they get this approved soon...especially now that Obamacare has been approved. I had to come and vent...I don't really have anyone to talk to about this...my mom never experienced this, so I feel all alone. Sometimes I am so depressed, all I want to do is curl up in the fetal position and cry forever. I'm lying in bed now, in a ton of pain. Thank you for being here...

I am so sorry your in pain and can't get approval on your surgery. I would call your insurance company and explain your situation to them. Maybe someone there can point you in the right direction for appealing their " non approval" situation. Keep us posted on your progress.It makes no sense that they would deny surgery based on your age. Sounds like a clerical error. Your in the normal age bracket for hysterectomy, so I just don;t get it either.
