Nausea and Pain?

I’ve looked through pages of entries and didn’t see anything on this. I’d appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

I went for my biopsy and pre-op at the same time. I was surprised when my doctor wrote the reason for my hyst was painful sex? I don’t have pain during intercourse but afterward I have begun to feel nauseated that doesn’t leave me for hours each time and occasionally I have uterine contractions, some of which are very painful and leave me flat on my back in pain. What bothers me more at this time is the intermittent pain or discomfort I am having for no apparent reason, it comes and goes at the weirdest times. My periods are also changing to having a lot of clots and supper heavy the first 2 days and then really light for the next 5 days. We did find a small fibroid and my lining is rather thick. The biopsy came back with no trace of cancer so I don’t have to worry about that. I’m going to get a second opinion asap at this time I have canceled my hyst. It was suppose to be today.

Nausea and Pain?

I had the intermittent pain which became constant after about 3 years. I had similar periods to what you describe too. I was diagnosed with endo, adno, and fibroids and finally had my hysterectomy 2 weeks ago. I am glad I did. Good luck making your decision.

Nausea and Pain?

i think youre very smart for getting a second opinion since you have doubts. thats the best thing that you can do...be well informed going into this. i understand not everyone can do that because of health issues, but if its possible...its the smartest thing to do. you might find out you have lots of different options. good luck

glad you waited?

Carrot, What has your journey been like the last 3 years? Are you glad you waited to have the surgery?

Nausea and Pain?

Journey has been painful!! I have changed doctors, otherwise I would still be undiagnosed. I had a year of infertility which resulted in finally getting pregnant on fertility drugs and a precious baby boy. Then a year later we tried again and had a baby girl (equally as precious!). Because I had 2 babies, my doctor refused to believe that I had endo, even though she is my mother's doctor and knew she had it. I was in pain during my period and occasionally between periods. We decided for sure 2 was enough and my pain began increasing--pain between periods, excruciating during periods, especially BMs. Then about 3 years ago, I started with this constant pelvic ache. I had enough and switched doctors. She agreed to do exploratory laparoscopy and discovered endo and suspected adeno. The next 6 months were pretty good--much less pain, easier periods. Then at my last annual exam I told my doc things were getting painful again and from her exam she could tell the endo was back. I decided then to have my hyst ASAP. I feel right now (2 weeks post-op) the same as I felt for a LONG time pre-op, but I am comforted that this time it will end--for good.

Nausea and Pain?

OOps, just realized I didn't answer your second question--I am very sorry I waited to have the surgery. Hopefully this isn't TMI--it has affected my marriage. I have a WONDERFUL DH who has suffered because sex was so painful for me. I rarely wanted any part of it because I knew the end result for me. Thankfully he was patient and loving anyway and he has taken such good care of me these past 2 weeks.

Nausea and Pain?

Have they done an ultrasound to look for cysts? I had that same pain after sex to the point to where our sex life was pretty much a deserted town because I couldn't do it anymore. An ultrasound during pre-op testing revealed a 6mm cyst between my left ovary and my uterus which was determined was the cause for the pain and contractions after intercourse. In surgery on Friday they took everything but my right ovary and I couldn't be happier! (well, that's a lie.... I'll be even happier once I'm fully recovered lol) I'd ask about that.

Thank you for sharing

We did do an ultrasound but were unable to see the left ovary clearly. It sounds like that might be a good thing to do again. Your stories sound so much like mine. I have a wonderful DH who is so supportive, but I know this is greatly effecting him he's so afraid he's going to hurt me. I'm not to the point of avoiding sex yet but I'm so worried I will. I have scheduled a second opinion on the 13th of June so hopefully this doctor will be able to provide me with more info. Thank you again ladies for sharing your stories it's so helpful to know I'm not on this journey alone.
