Endometrial Thickness and Fibroids

I have been suffering with lower back pain, right pelvic pain and bloating abdomen for about a month and a half now. I have had every test under the sun and the only thing that was abnormal was I had 6mm thinkening of my endometrial stripe and a small fibroid. My ultra sound results of my ovary was normal and I had a endometrial biopsy and it was normal also. I have not had the blood test (CA-125) which I read is not full proof. I have not had a period in 16 years I have a family history of ovarian cancer and I have had 2 surgeries, 1 for removal of my left ovary and tube and other for removal of my right tube, and 2 hospitalizations for ovarian cysts in the last 25 years. Do you think it is out of the ordinary for me to ask my gynecologist if maybe it is time for me to discuss hysterectomy? And if yes how do I go about doing that. I have an appt with her tomorrow 11/15/11. Thank you for any suggestions.

Discuss away - there is nothing 'out of the ordinary' here. We are all different and have different stories about how we got here.

I have read that adhesions can cause some of your issues and they can be a result from scar tissue from previous surgeries adhering to other internal parts. BUT - that said, there are other reasons you may be having the issues you are.

Never hesitate to discuss these and other issues with your doctor and if s/he does not seem inclined to listen, find on who will.

Thank you McLila!! I will be sure to let you know how things come out tomorrow!! I will feel comfortable asking those quetions tomorrow... 57 and tired of the rif raf I seem to go thru about every 5-7 years with this... just think maybe it's time to explore my options....
