Thank you all!

I am having TVH on March 12th and am very scared as well, I have convinced myself that this is for the best. Quality of life is what I am looking for and if I hear another sad story about how I shouldn't do this cause "I'm too young" I think I will scream. I want to thank you guys cause this site has given me the courage to go forth and be a hyster sister.

Thank you all!

If you feel comfortable with your decision, so be it. I had TVH on 2-25, the waiting was the hardest/scariest part. The recovery has been ok, so far. Follow the princess rules and read this site as often as necessary - there's lots of support. I even found support at 3 am the day of surgery! As one person once told me - there are as many opinions as there are seats - everyone has one. The only one that matters is your own.

I'll think of you on the 12th.

Hugs,
Kit

Hi Cupcake,

Welcome to Hyster Sisters!!

While I'm sorry that you are facing surgery, I am glad that you found HS and posted to introduce yourself. In my case, I put off having my surgery until I had explored various alternatives, because there are always risks of complications with any type of surgery, and a hysterectomy is major surgery, and can't be un-done. But if you have gotten more than one opinion, done your research, and feel that you are ready, then please don't let others upset you. They care, and probably don't know how to put it into words. Only you and your doctor can make the final decision about your health and your quality of life.

Please be sure to read the Pre-Op Hints and the Post-Op Hints. They are full of great advice that will help you to prepare for your surgery and recovery.

I hope you'll continue to read and to post any questions that you may have - we'll do our best to help.
