Anyone have a Lap turn into a Hyster?

HI all ! Just curious. Anyone go for a Lap. and have it turn into a hyster ? I started Lupron but it is not working and doc said if not better by next appt (nov. 15th) He will do a Lap to see whats going on.I was supposed to have one before the Lupron but I chickened out. I am ok with having surgery now in fact I just want it done and over with!My Doc said I am going to need a hyster eventually but we are tring the Lupron first because of my age 34. I am just thinking if he gets in there and see nothing but a huge Endo. mess why not just get it over with? I have had it with pain. Thanks Jess

I don't know how often this is done. The permit would have to include the possible hyst, and the O.R. would have to have the time allotted, and your insurance approval would have to be set-up in advance, etc. Best bet would be to ask your doctor about it.

I had the lap done back in May and I was 34 at the time and we discussed at the time that if the endo was really bad to go ahead with the hyst, but he decided I didn't need it, now I wish he would've just done it because i'm dealing with the pain again and my cycle won't stop(going on 3 weeks now) Good Luck!! I was told before my scope that if my doctor found anything "life threatening" he would perform a laparotomy and remove whatever to save my life. Unless it was "life threatening", though, he would wait and tell me what he found so I could make the final decision. He did not find any signs of cancer, so just finished the scope and told me my results at my followup visit.
