RALH (keep one ovary) scheduled for March 10

I had what turned out to be my "pre-op" appointment with my doctor on Friday. I was able to spend about an hour with her, and she answered all of my questions and put my mind at ease about the "need" for my surgery. The hospital I'm going to has only one robot, and it gets booked up quickly. I wanted to have my surgery toward the end of February, but now I'm realizing this will give me more time to prepare myself.

I had a breakdown in the middle of the night Friday night. Woke up having a panic attack, and cried on my hubby's shoulder for an hour as he fed me jello (haha). I think this might be more traumatic for me than I've admitted to myself.

Also, I've looked at the HysterSister store, but would like feedback about what will really help me after surgery. I don't have a lot of expendable cash, so I can't buy everything! I'm thinking of purchasing the Swelly Belly band and maybe the Chillow (as I am currently suffering from night sweats at least four times a week). Any thoughts or advice on what helped you the most?

Thanks for any responses and advice.

Peace,
Amy

Re: RALH (keep one ovary) scheduled for March 10

I had a RALPH/DVH and didn't need the swelly belly band or the chillow. But I don't have night sweats either. If you don't already have a body pillow, I would very much suggest you purchase one of those. They are less than 15.00 and provide wonderful abdominal support when you sleep.

Coraline

I had the daVinci and didn't need the swelly belly band but did need a tummy pillow for car rides (mine was bigger so used it as a body pillow as well).

I love the chillow for night sweats so with little expendable cash I would recommend that one in my humble opinion. I've gotten them as gifts for 2 other friends and they love them.
