Hysterectomy and Endometriosis

Hi All

I am new to Hyster sisters and am looking for any information regarding having a hyst due to endometriosis.

A freind of mine who has no access to a computer is due to have her op in December, I know that it is not a cure for endo but she wants to go ahead anyway, she has not been told what will happen after the op regarding HRT etc, this is a concern because if any endo is left behind it could be once again stimulated by estrogen.

I would be grateful for any advice you could give that I could pass on.

I am having a hsyt. Oct. 20 due to adeno and endometriosis. At first I was thinking that just my uterus and cervix would be taken because I am only 28, however my doc told me that if he didn't take everything, I would still have terrible pain and most likely would be back in a year for another surgery to laser more endo and take the ovaries at that time. So I am going to just have everything done at once. I was told that I would not have HRT for at least 3 months after surgery to make sure that all the microscopic particles of endometriosis died. Then after he is confident that it has been starved out of existence and won't come back, he will start the HRT.
