Had my Pre-op This Morning

I was so thankful to go for my pre-op, and so glad I did.

I don't know what land I have been living in lately, but for some reason I thought that I would be discharged the day after surgery (vaginal hysto with cystocele and rectocele repair). Surprise! Nope! Surgery on Thursday and they anticipate Sunday as release day, unless I recover really quickly.

I don't know why but that kinda set me back - I haven't been in hospital that long for over 20 years (giving birth), and then I was kept busy with feeding baby, bathing baby, changing baby etc.

I had better go shopping for some good books this weekend! Or maybe I will just be in some happy medical stupor the whole time, lol!

Re: Had my Pre-op This Morning

I haven't had my hysterectomy yet but from what I've read on here is you'll sleep most of the time. I plan on taking my smartphone and my laptop. lol. I don't know if I will use it but I'm still taking it. how many nightgowns are you taking?

Re: Had my Pre-op This Morning

Probably just the one, or maybe two - most likely just comfortable cotton t-shirty types, and a lightweight dressing gown - have go go and buy one, can you believe...the two I have are so shabby and old, lol.

And there are so many cute little pj sets out there right now, but due to mandatory access to certain areas of the anatomy, they are just not practical at the moment

Re: Had my Pre-op This Morning

I took a book with me to the hospital, but didn't even open it. I was only in one night, though.

You might consider taking some magazines or something that requires less concentration, in addition to the books, just in case you're not able to read a real book.
