Things I have done to prepare

The more I prepare, the better I feel. I'm starting to get nervous, but I feel better prepared if that makes any sense.
I've made two different kinds of soup and frozen them in single serving containers.
We're getting new pillows and my wonderful bf got me a heating pad and a non-slip tub mat.
He also got an over the shower head caddy so I won't have to bend over while showering (this is great because I've always wanted one but just not ever got around to picking one up.
I have gotten 2 new nightgowns, 2 new pj sets and a pack of new undies (this is probably my most favourite purchase...lol)
I have things organized at work (which was super important to me because I work in retail and I'll be gone until mid-Nov, missing Christmas set-up)
Friends have set me up with a zillion books and I got a new sudoku book.
Bf went to second hand stores and got us a bunch of old movies on video, so that should be fun.
I got a recipe box with two packs of recipe cards and plan on transferring my favourites from my dilapidated binder.
For the hospital I have my little fat cat stuffie to rest my IV hand on, 2 bags of candies for the nurses and I'll probably buy a few magazines.

Hoping that this might give other ladies some ideas and please, join in and let me know what you've done, because maybe I haven't thought of that yet!

8 days to go!!!!

Re: Things I have done to prepare

I brought a book bag filled with goodies for my DH for the waiting room. A suduko book, water bottle , Chex mix, ect. He was there for 6 hours. He really appreciated it. I have also kept a journal to help me keep track of my meds what time I last took something. What I eat. Bowel movements (fun) but helpful. When friends or family offer to bring a meal I ask them to also bring a movie that they own with thier name on it. Love & Hugs V

Re: Things I have done to prepare

Prepay or set-up all your bills.. out a month if you can. So you don't have to deal with that. Get BF/DH to get some fresh fruit/vegs on the day of surgery.

Get a louge chair and enjoy the sun when you get a chance.
