remember those 6 weeks in recovery are a time to
rest, read good books, think about your life, have a break from day to day chores, work, schedules...i have enjoyed them...it's not as bad as you probably are thinking...but i totally understand the apprehension..take care and keep in touch
I think I'm done with the videos! lol The only one that really needs to know how it's done is the Dr! Thanks for the encouragement!!!
And like karenc65 said: We can do this girls!!!

You're right about not getting all the questions answered! There's questions I haven't even thought of! Like swelly belly. I learned that here! Do I need to go buy some larger shirts to wear for awhile?

yes and just so you know...swelley belly goes into your back even..i'm 4 weeks post op and still have it..tho it doesn't hurt ..i still can't wear my jeans...first week i just wore a long shirt and couldn't wear pants..bothered my incision..
i'm still not wearing all my pants...and i'm pretty skinny..
get some steri strips and 4 by 4 sterile squares for incision care for first few weeks...if you are having abdominal incision...and tape for fastening it...

ice on incision for first week or two is SO wonderful...and an abdominal binder

My surgery is also on Monday and while I am anxious about it, I think right now the most difficult part for me is going to be getting through tomorrow at work and doing my prep on Sunday. Wishing you peace!

I agree,I'm not looking forward to the Sunday prep either. I keep telling myself that it's just one day. Since finding this group of ladies my anxiety has gone so much!! I'm just looking forward to getting this over and on to recovery, back to “normal" life. Wishing you all the BEST on Monday!

Re: Anxiety thru the roof (hysterectomy 10/6)

My surgery is on Wed the 8th. I seem to think more about it when I am laying in bed. This won't be my first surgery, I had a surgery 5 years ago for an ectopic pregnancy and got the c section cut. But that one was an emergency and this one isn't. i have watched some videos, the actual DaVinci surgery video don't bother me it is the vaginal video i didn't like. But I guess I will be asleep so it don't matter. I just wish it would get here and be done and over with. I have pre op on Tuesday and am hoping for no bowl prep and no liquid diet. But a friend of mine had the same doctor and had a laproscopic hysterectomy awhile back and she said she didn't have to do it.
