Post-op clothing

I am at 5 weeks post-op and went back to work last week. I found that my Chico's pants are the best---they size them 1, 2, or 3 and the waistbands have elastic so it fits around the belly. I'm not quite ready for anything tight, so when I get home I change into cotton drawstring pants or shorts with an elastic waist. ( can you tell I'm not a "dress" kind of gal?)

I just got home from buying my night shirt, robe and 2 sundresses. I'm getting ready a little at a time.

Post-op clothing

I bought some high waist undies a size bigger than normal, but found that my regular size was more comfy because of the added support for my incision. Just make sure to not try the low rise bikinis as they fall directly on the incision line. I also bought 3 large sleepshirts and a few new pairs of those really soft, fluffy socks-they always make me feel better. My family is the type that will think I can start doing housework if I wear regular clothes, so I am milking the pjs and robe for all its worth..lol! Actually, my belly went down so much in size that the shorts I wore to the hospital are now too big even with the swelling I do have. There's a big indention on my stomach from where my uterus was-it was very enlarged. It was so strange to be able to run my hands down my stomach and feel it totally flat! Anyway, don't go crazy buying a new wardrobe just yet-you may not need it. Wait until you are healed and then go on a spree!
