My last cycle ever is about to start!

And I'm so silly emotional over it. I KNOW- I KNOW KNOW KNOW that I am NOT GOING TO MISS THIS! I know that!!! I know that I will rejoice, and be glad! After the surgery I will no longer be spotting and bleeding for more time out of the month than not. No more painful sex. No more polyps. It's all good.

But it's still my last cycle, and it reminds me of every chance I had to become pregnant, of every miscarriage, of every pregnancy, birth, miracle, the miracle of what my body can do. So for some crazy reason, I'm spotting, and I'm crying and saying goodbye to the magic.

I'm not going to miss it! Right?
I AM NOT MY BODY!!!!

WAHHH sorry. I feel like I'm going to be emotionally annoying and needy til it's done. Man anticipation is a *****!
Nicki

Re: My last cycle ever is about to start!

I'm scheduled for surgery on Aug 3rd. I had been on the pill and had a break through period. My doctor said go ahead and go off the pill and just have my last cycle before surgery. However I started to hemorage. I was bleeding and changing out my super plus tampax every 1/2 -1 hour and heavy clots. I guess I should be thinking along the lines you are and thinking about all the miracles, miscarriage etc....but I know I'm done with kids. I have a 22 year old and a 15 year old. I'm 42 and I dont want to start over again. I had a tummy tuck after weight loss and decided it's time to take care of me now....I dont know if that is selfish...maybe some would think so....but emotionally I'm prepared and ready to have this done. I'm now taking provera to stop the heavy bleeding before surgery....I'm looking foward to moving ahead and having this part of my life behind me....I'm thankful for my two beautiful girls and blessed in many many ways....You'll be ok, you wont miss this and I understand the gammot of emotions you are dealing with.....for myself I have to think about the future and what it entails....Like you said no more painful sex...what a bonus! I can't wait to have sex any time I want no more waiting 2 weeks before it's all cleared up....and no more worries whether or not I might get pregnant...I can finally get off my birth control pill, which in turn I might be able to get off my blood pressure med as well.....I just wish I knew about the fibroid ahead of time and it could have been dealt with when I had my tummy tuck. So 3rd surgery in less then 1 year....but it's going to be ok and I know what to do afterwards to get back into shape I will be thinking of you and hope it goes well and that emotionally you will find strength through it all.....

Re: My last cycle ever is about to start!

We are the August Girls!
I have my surgery on 8/19/09 and can cry at a minute notice. Silly!
While I don't have the spotting, I have the cramps and pain on my rihgt side. My mom told me that after 8/19/09, I will have recovery pains not period pains.
Good Luck to all of you
