I would check with your doctior about colors. I was not allowed red or or purple for a colonoscopy but I could have them for both surgery preps. Those are the good flavors so why deprive yourself if you don't have to. Lol.

You can also make ahead some quality broth. Make your broth and strain it well. Refrigerate it, and skim off the fat that will rise and set. I think it's more nutritious and satisfying than canned or powdered, if you are into cooking soups. Make it the day before. I mixed the cran and apple juices for a little variety. I had no "red" restrictions for surgery, just for a colonoscopy. I didn't think the liquid diet was bad, esp if you actually have "meals", broth, jello and juice, and take in enough so you aren't hungry. Good luck.
