Talking - The things I can do with my crutches The things I can do with my crutches

On Thursday evening there was an altercation with one of my stepdaughters. During the struggle I severely torn my calf muscles on my right leg. I am now hobbling around on crutches (going to be fun after my hyst on Wednesday).

I have found that I can do some great things with my crutches - turn the TV on and off, shut the vent on the living room window, move clothes off the floor, beat the kids with them (only joking), switch lights on and off, move the cat off the chair, shut the dishwasher, shut the doors.

I'm planning to get some ribbons to decorate them

Anybody else got ideas on things to do with my crutches.

The things I can do with my crutches

just read your other post..surprised you said you were joking about beating the kids.... ..You poor dear have been through so idea for the crutches...use one of them to barricade the bathroom door...light some bath with the finest bubbles your SO can find..pour a glass of wine and soak,soak,soak,soak,soak....maybe you could use the other crutch to change the tunes on the radio you place in the bathroom!! sit back and relax and enjoy your bubble bath....oops did you say you have a cast? make SO wrap a towl around it and hold it out of the water..he owes you that!!!hahahaha i made the mistake of not using everyspare moment to lay in the tub before my i have 4 more weeks before i can soak!! best of luck! hugs, brieann

My uncle Jack had crutches. As a boy he was hit on his bike by a truck. anyway, he got pretty good at nudging his grandkids and getting them to do what he said. I was a niece so I never had the honor of this. But I did watch a few of my cousins get "loved" by uncle Jack. He wouldn't ever have done it to hurt anyone. He just did it to motivate the grandSONS. They were the ones that got it the most. He had pretty good aim. Sadly we lost him in march of 2003.

The things I can do with my crutches

Hey, Choccie!

I'm glad to see your sense of humor is intact! After your post last week, I've been worried about you!

Say, what about sewing lil' make-shift slip-covers for the crutches,.. with lil' pouches for pockets to hold light-weight items, for after your hyst.? LOL,... one for antacid, one for stool softners, one for pain meds,... you'll even have a nice little maraca sound! If that doesn't work,........... I suppose you could always use them to play air-guitar?

I'm a huge fan of bubble baths so I loved the 'pre-hyst' bubble bath idea from Brieann,... just remember to make sure the radio would be far enough away that if the crutch manuevered wrong you didn't end up with a 'shocking' tragedy!

Best of luck,... and keep up the fantastic spirits!

The things I can do with my crutches

I've got to keep laughing. With everything that we have got on our plates laughter is the best medicine.

Another good thing to come out of it is that the kids are keeping the house tidy so I don't trip over everything.

Wonder how long I can keep the crutches
