How Did You Choose Your User Name?

Some interesting stories. My given name is Rachelle. I have many, many nieces and nephews. My oldest niece is only 2 years younger than me. Anyway they had a hard time with Rachelle so they started just saying Shell. My best friend changed it to Shell V. Vearl is my middle name. The kids heard Shellby and that is what stuck for all these years. I am listed as both Rachelle and Shellby in my senior yearbook. On other forums I am Auntshellby because that is a big part of who I am. There are 9 nieces and 4 nephews and 9 great nieces and 2 great nephews now. So far that is! I am sure there will be more greats to come.

I think this if fun, mine is however less imaginative.... I have had my name for 7 years now, because I love tigger (as in winnie the pooh and tigger too), I always joke that I can relate to tigger happy go lucky bouncing around on my tail...LOL, I also use his famous goodbye... TTFN (tat tat for now). I'm a goof so to know me is to love me hence the Tigger. ;-)

How'd ya Get That Name?

I chose this "nom de plume" from a certain favorite address in London (221B Baker Street) and my own creation of an idyllic house name.

Another I had was "Foxefyre".....chosen from Wire Fox Terriers (a favorite breed!) and the anglicized spelling of the ginger colored bits of hair they sport.

WOOF!

How Did You Choose Your User Name?

I have had my user name for years. When I needed a user name my DH was looking at the horse races, lol, so I scanned the names of the horses and sophistocat was one and I fell in love with it. So I tweaked it a little and have used it ever since. This is a great thread have loved reading all the stories.

How Did You Choose Your User Name?

This has been really fun reading everyones post about their screen names.

Mine is kind of a funny story. But it may be one of those that you just had to be there for.

I had to go in for a colonoscopy and my DH was out of town so a really good friend had to take me. When they rolled me into the procedure room, they told me that I would actually be asleep for the procedure . As the nurse started to put the med in my iv to go to sleep she said "You'll start to feel a little tingly all over your body right before you fall asleep". That's the last thing I remember (except getting that tingly feeling) and the next second (it felt like) they were waking me up in my room where my friend sat. I was still very drugged and groggy and I looked at her and laughed and said (in a very drugged up voice) "She said I'd feel a little TINKY all over.....no....wait a minute....Tinky's my cat....." and I started laughing again and fell back asleep.

I had no memory of it until much later....I was wondering why she kept calling me Tink! (I did explain what I was really trying to say later.) But she's never going to let me live it down! Every day that I've talked to her since or every email I get from her (daily) she calls me Tink! (We're goofy anyway!)

I do have a cat (my DD's cat) Tinkerbelle, which we call Tink.

86 was my graduation year!
