Explaining the procedure to men

I found the most perfect way to explain the surgery to men so they understand. First I tried it on my husband then my 22 yr old son.

First I explained the internal anatomy of a woman. I explained the position of parts and explained the procedure and what they were going to do. However, it was the second part that got them.

Let me put it delicately so as not to offend anyone ....

I said imagine that your pair of family jewels were being removed through an incision at the end of a long tube .....is that delicate enough???

They were much more understanding when they could relate it to their own bodies.

Why of course you can quote me ....just make sure you use the real terms and make it sound as painful as possible ....

Explaining the procedure to men

Hi Sisters - Here is the best post I have ever seen for explaining a TVH to men:

https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/sho...38#post1154138

But for men (and others) to understand even more - it helps to refer to it as what it is.... *major surgery*, and not a "procedure".

To me, and I suspect alot of people, a "procedure" is more like having an ingrown toenail removed, or a cavity filled, and it just minimizes this surgery in people's minds - and using that word may cost you ALOT during your recovery. (sorry for the soapbox, just looking out for my sisters!)

Explaining the procedure to men

Prior to surgery, I had a man ask me what I was going in for. When I told him a hysterectomy, he asked what that was! Geez Then after surgery the clerk at the 7-11 asked why I hadn't been in for awhile. I told him because I had surgery & figured I would leave it at that. He had to ask what kind & I told him a hyst. Then he asked if they had to cut me!! OMG

When I returned to work, I had so many customers ask where I had been. They are mostly all seniors & would then ask what type of surgery etc One even told me to make sure I did my therapy! What the heck kind of therapy could I be having?? Maybe sex?? LOL I joked with some of the girls in the office saying lucky thing it wasn't anything too personal, but maybe I should respond with something like, "I had a vaginal lengthening to accommodate the size of my DBF's penis!" LOL That would shut them up real quick!
