Anxiety tonight about upcoming daVinci LSH BSO and biopsy of mass behind uterus
I just need some encouragement for my upcoming surgery - I know it's absolutely necessary as I have an unknown mass behind my uterus, which could be a fibroid or could be my left ovary and it will be biopsied. I also have cysts on the other ovary and fibroids in my uterus. (I'm post menopausal) A pathologist will biopsy the mass during surgery and then if it's cancer he will close me up without the LSH BSO and I would be referred to an oncologist for a full incision surgery and chemo. My CA-125 blood test came out low, so he's hoping it's benign. I also don't have a build up of fluid or bloating. This is my second opinion doctor and I really trust his judgement ....I'm just scared. Any words of encouragement would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

Re: Anxiety tonight about upcoming daVinci LSH BSO and biopsy of mass behind uterus
It's perfectly normal to feel nervous, especially the days leading up to your surgery! You are not alone- we are here for you.
It sounds like you trust your doctor and that you are in excellent hands, Roses. I think the worst part for many of us is the not knowing what will happen during and after the surgery- our imaginations can start to run away with us. You've done your research, selected an excellent doctor and have prepared yourself.
I would now take this time to focus on an successful surgery and recovery. I downloaded an imagery tape to my Ipod and listened to it everyday- it helped me tremendously (Healthful Journey-Surgery) with my nerves and outcome. Take walks, enjoy the sunshine- anything that will help you to relax and focus on a good outcome.
Good luck- I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. My LSH was uneventful and I'm having a good recovery. I wish the same for you!

Re: Anxiety tonight about upcoming daVinci LSH BSO and biopsy of mass behind uterus
Dear keeslady2 and peppermintpeggy,
Thank-you both for your encouraging words and especially for your prayers. This is more stressful for me with my sweet husband living four hours away for his job since May of 2008 awaiting a job opening here. When I got the news from the CT Scan about this mass, I already had been handling a lot with 2 jobs and lots of medical tests and living alone for the first time. I hope and pray the surgery will be successful that day and I won't need to be referred on to an oncologist and wait again for surgery and then chemo on my own here. I'm grateful my husband can be here for my surgery day and a few after. Thanks for the reminder Elizabeth about the imagery CD. I have one from when this surgery fell through at the end of June with a different doctor. It's time to listen to the CD again. Please pray for faith and strength for me.....I'm feeling weak.
Hugs! Roses4all

Roses4all -
I can totally understand where you are coming from and the anxieties that you are feeling.
I had planned on having the Novasure procedure done, but when I went in for my vaginal ultrasound and biopsy prior to the procedure, a large mass was found on my uterus. My CA-125 results were not elevated, so my doctor thinks that it is probably benign, but I am still nervous.
I will be praying for you and your surgery. I'm so glad that we have this site to come to - a place where we can ask questions, get answers, vent, and get encouragement. The sisters here have been a godsend!

Good Luck to you! I hope all turns out ok. At least you have this site to help you out and get encouragement. I also had a ca-125 test come back negative (well, it was a 4 so low enough they call it negative) and it was scary waiting on that. I hope the mass turns out to be a fibroid or cyst and they can just remove it and you can feel better.
Sending possitive thoughts your way...we are going in on the same day.

Not Alone
It's comforting to know I'm not alone in this. Thanks for the most recent notes sent my way from lorianne13 and Hannie333. I hope and pray your procedures go well also. And Hannie333, it's interesting we share the same surgery day. I had a much better afternoon and evening after reading both of your posts to me and receiving some encouragement and prayers from friends today. It was my last day of work for awhile until I heal, so now I can focus on the final details before surgery. I look forward to hearing how you're doing. When is your surgery lorianne13?
Hugs,
Ronda
