The only sensation I have aside from possibly a little discharge which is normal, is air pockets.

Re: Strange vaginal sensation, 4 weeks post hysterectomy

and

It sounds like the "phantom tampon" which so many others have described. There's inflammation from all the internal cuts, stitches and cauterizations inside, and as we start doing more, we may trigger that. With inflammation comes some swelling, and that includes vaginal swelling. Do a check-down of your activities, and see if you may be doing too much. At 4 weeks, you're not out of the woods yet and still need to build in rest breaks. Ibuprofen is good for inflammation, an ice pack down there can help, and prioritize resting this weekend over doing things.

You'll still be healing for several more weeks perhaps months, even after you're released. Since you've just joined us, you might find these resources helpful in knowing what to expect:I'd also like to invite you to connect with your Recovery Thread for women who had surgery the same week as you at Recovery Progress Reports for June 28-July 04. Recovery Threads are wonderful for getting support, comparing notes, encouraging others, and keeping one another company.
