CaryV You have been so wonderful! Best wished to you as well.

I go back to work (from home) tomorrow. I haven't cried since before surgery. But I've been living it up in my parent's house for 2 months stress-free, which definitely helped with recovery.

On to the next phase for us!

I’ve had a time healing fully and with getting energy back. At my 6 week checkup I was not released but have a checkup next week and hopefully will be then. I’ve recently been in and out of the hospital with very odd symptoms which is thought to be related to a form of Dysautonomia called POTS. I’m only posting this in the chance that someone else at some point may experience this and not have answers. It’s been rather frustrating and it was all a gradual onset after my hysterectomy.

Had one ovary left after surgery May 7, and having pain with that ovary. Feels very cyst like, anyone still get ovarian cysts afterwards?

Hey ladies!

I was curious if any of you who kept your ovaries have been experiencing vaginal dryness with sex? The first few times after surgery were literal perfection for me… then suddenly now I’m 99% dry. I spoke with my doc and he said it’s probably not related to the surgery… but this is something I’ve NEVER had an issue with, so I thought I’d ask!

I got both ovaries removed, but I have seen other threads on this website that mention those who kept ovaries getting ovarian cysts after hysterectomy.

Regarding the vaginal dryness, I had that before my hysterectomy, when I still had my ovaries. I don't know how old you are, but the ovaries eventually stop working and epic vaginal dryness sets in. But I've also seen threads on this website where some of the women felt their ovaries pooped out for a while after hysterectomy, then possibly resumed function??

It'd be great to check with your docs on those two issues.

As for myself, I'm still struggling with what constitutes overdoing. I am diligently attempting to get back to baseline walking and stretching/fitness without giving myself pain setbacks. But seems lately I have more pain setbacks than not. So the process is going at a snail's pace. Is everyone else pain free at this point?

Hi
I’m curious what cyst pain feels like? I definitely am having pain around my left ovary (I kept both) but not sure what it is or what cust pain is like? Mine feels like a stabbing pain when moving and a dull pain at rest. Not all the time but enough for me to get an ultrasound. I’m also still so bloated and my surgeon was worried I still can’t fit into normal clothes coz of my stomach

Nope definitely not pain free - still only walking and get extra swollen just from that. It’s so frustrating and just to let you know you are not alone

I’m not pain free either but it’s not the surgery itself. It’s nerve damage from a large fibroid that was sitting on my colon and tailbone. I am also being worked up and tested for POTS. I’m also wondering about my ovaries not being awake. How soon after hysterectomy can those hormones be tested? I’ve been told I need to have more good days than bad before they can test. With possible Pots flare up I don’t know if that changes that. Anyone else experience this? I’m also going to post on main post to see if there’s any there may have.

Same here. I'm still a little tender and have only been walking. Sitting upright all day for work isn't 100% great either. I see people on other threads with later surgeries than us trying to work in weights. I can wait.
