I gave her a piece of my mind. After that she was fine but stillÖIím writing a letter to the hospital detailing this experience she should not be in a recovery floor if sheís burnt out with people in pain.
Iím so sorry your nurse wasnít great! Thatís got to be frustrating. Iím glad your home and resting as comfortably as you can.

Iím on day 3 post op and dealing with a headache that doesnít seem to want to go away. Iím ready to break out my migraine meds once Iím to the point that I can safely take them. They have acetaminophen in them and I just took some extra strength acetaminophen a couple of hours ago. So I need to wait a bit. Otherwise, not doing too bad today. Just frustrated with having to take it easy when I donít feel bad. lol

Hi Itís Suzanne second day post op. My surgery was on the 17th, abdominal surgery for uterus, cervix tubes, and one cyst on my ovary, but left the ovaries. The surgeon explained that there was some scar tissue in the incision from my two previous C-sections so he had some scar tissue to remove, and had to use the same large incision location.
That might explain the surgical pain. Itís still pretty sore in the lower abdomen area. I had painful distension higher up but started passing gas so that is feeling better. I have a hydro morphine pain pump stuck but need to use it less often, some other oral painkillers in the mix. I was throwing up a lot the first two days and today broke out in a full body sweat not feeling well so Iím staying one more night in hospital to make sure Iím in good shape before I head home tomorrow.
Peeing hurts, the squeezing muscles, but itís like the muscles are relearning how to empty my bladder and itís getting better. They did a culture to be on the safe side so waiting for those results.

I hope you are all recovering well.
Suzanne

Hi there!
I had my surgery yesterday morning and went home late afternoon . Uterus, cervix, tubes all gone. Also had some endo which was excised. The surgeon also fixed a small prolapse which I didnt even know I had. Unfortunately I canít remember much of what they told me about my surgery in the recovery room. Doctor and specialist said they would call this week to explain. In a lot of discomfort today and canít quite get comfortable. Iím eating small meals and trying to take some walks around the house. Really trying to muster up the strength to shower tonight. Happy healing to my sisters!

all & : Pamplp720714, suzy999, & DKris,

So glad to have you ladies join us here on the RecoveryProgressReport thread for this week. Sounds like you have each had different experiences so far.

Pam, sorry you had to deal with a less than agreeable nurse, but glad to hear things are some better now that you are home. Things will look up as you get some sleep and a few days behind you.

Suzanne, take it slow but keep walking. Extra work like the scar tissue means you could have increased swell and inflammation will help. It is good they were able to remove it. Sorry to hear you have the nausea problem but am glad you are able to stay an extra day to get things leveled out so things may be easier when you get home. Glad they took a culture so if you have a UTI you can go on meds right away.

DKris, sounds even with some discomfort you are being able to go forward. Good luck with that hope it happens. My 1st one made me tired but I felt human again.

Jenn, hope by now that migraine is better. Think anesthesia can cause it for some.

Hope all of you are continuing to improve even if only ever so slightly. This is an up and down recovery so you do need to roll with the punches and that means rest when your body needs you to and as much as you can. And to all don’t hold back if you have a question ask and for sure keep us posted on how things are going.

Lots of gentle hugs,
Anndy

The migraine meds helped until they wore off. I figured out the cause though. We have some pretty strong storms coming through. The drop in air pressure usually does it for me. I took some more meds so hopefully Iíll be able to sleep.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jun 14-Jun 20,2021

Hello,
I had my hysterectomy laparoscopic total salpingectomy on June 18th. Everything went well. My pain level in the hospital was a 5/6. I can't take pain meds so I've been on Tylenol and Motrin every 6 hours. I did have a catheter for a few hours after surgery. Once it was removed I was able to urinate.
I was able to come home on the 19th in the afternoon. I'm making sure to drink my water and get rest.
Today is the 20th and I had two bowel movements this morning. I was surprised that it already happened but was glad. Pain is now a 2/3. Still had some gas pains but nothing to bad. I try to get up every hour or so to stretch my legs. I'm also making sure to get a nap in.
I also took a shower this morning which felt good.

It is so good to have you join us here. Glad to hear things are going well for you. Keep up the water and do walk when you get up. The increases the circulation in the lower ab and helps reduce swelling and inflammation. This is very important to healing and keeping the pain down.

Suzanne, glad you are home and resting well,

Hope the rest of you are being able to rest and are beginning the healing journey.

Gentle sister hugs to all,
Anndy

How is everyone doing today? I have been cycling the Tylenol and ibuprofen and havenít had to use the narcotic pain meds today. I never made it to the shower yesterday but finally did today. I feel so much better. I was scared to look at the incisions but they donít seem too gruesome. I had to keep calling members of my family into the bathroom because I dropped my bra, towel, etc and I didnít want to bend to pick up. Still no BM but hopefully soon. Hoping to hear from the doctor tomorrow as I am curious as to what was going on ďin thereĒ I remember her saying something about a completely retroverted uterus but my mind was too foggy at that point. I wish you all a relaxing evening!

Dkris,

Glad you finally got that shower. Did you need a nap after. I did after my 1st one.

What is a retroverted uterus? Hope your Dr explains what that means. Let us know if you are up to asking.

Sister Hugs,
Anndy
