Migraine and cant take any thing Because I'm less then a week out.

I woke up in so much pain from a migraine. My surgery is next Tuesday so I am already in my week of not being allowed to take any thing. Ahhh. It's so frustrating!

Hey MissMelanie, greetings from down the road in Westland, Michigan.

I woke up with a migraine today, too. My doctor told me I could take Imitrex for my migraines up until the day of surgery if needed. That, plus my cup of coffee this morning, helped relieve the headache. Do you have a prescription for Imitrex? If so, I'd think it's safe to take (you could call your doc to ask, or even to ask for the prescription).

Call your doctor. There are options for you, but you must talk to your surgeon and let him tell you what to use.

in there!

I use excedrine migraine about once a month, so this was a concern of mine. Give your doc a call because there are options. I don't know how you get, but if I can't break them I get to the point of vomiting. Dehydration then becomes a concern.

Chiropractor may help. I had a week long migraine relieved in one session. Soon as he cracked my neck it was gone.
I know how horrible they are and the stress only makes this worse. :-(

My husband got a really bad migraine the night before he was suppose to go in to donate his kidney. I was so worried about him I paged the nephrologist. The doc said he was more worried about dehydration if he started vomiting (he had already started his bowel prep). He called in a scrip for the naseau and believe it or not told me to give him 2 tylenol and 3 motrin, which i thought was crazy, but like I said he was primarily concerned about potential of dehydration. He said we had to knock the migraine out. If you get to the point of vomiting, for sure call him again.
