Got my surgery date!!!

Got my surgery date, holy cats!

Dr's nurse called today, told me the news... LAVH, including taking the ovaries done at 7:00 AM on October 24th! After waiting for the decision now I feel like a deer in the headlights!
I have lots more reading to do, just to get myself more educated. I have been dealing with pelvic pain for almost 17 years, and have had enough!
I guess I am a bit nervous..... Mostly right now, I am glad that I will be having surgery so early in the morning so I don't have to wait and starve all day. At this point the only pre surgery instructions I have been given are no ibuprofen or aspirin 5 days ahead, nothing to eat or drink after midnight, and to bring any meds to the hosp.. (that only involves thyroid meds..) expect 1 night in the hosp. Hopefully it will go that smooth!

Re: Got my surgery date!!!

Yay for getting your surgery date. Now you have an end date in sight and you can prepare. My surgery might be that same day. Doctors are coordinating their schedules as more than one surgeon is needed for me, so I think it'll be either 10/17 or 10/24.

I have spent hours on this site reading past posts....I find that pretty much every question I do a search for, I get lots of helpful information! Use that search box!

Re: Got my surgery date!!!

I have still yet to let work know... still trying to decide on how or when to do that... I work in a school kitchen, and because it is the beginning of the year, things are really hectic right now... I will probably wait until into October before I say anything... I know they have capable staff to take my place, and I don't want to listen to the while she is out stuff...
