weight gain?
Ok I asked my doctor if I would gain or lose weight during my recovery, of course he laughed at me and didn't answer me ( maybe that because I also asked him how much my uteus)sorry about the spelling) weighed.
But really will I gain or lose?

weight gain?
Everyone is different, so you just never know. I gained 6 pounds immediately after the surgery (they weighed me), but I think it was all fluid retention. The pain, nausea and drugs basically make you feel like not eating very much.
It has been 11 days since the surgery, and I have lost those 6 pounds plus plus 5 more. But I am on Effexxor, an antidepressant that stops hot flashes, and is known to make you lose your appetite. (yay!)

weight gain?
Hi Debie, I worried about that too, but I guess I was lucky, I'm 8 weeks recovered now, and about 10 lbs lighter. My doc said about 4 lbs of it was fibroid tumor. I did get to keep my overies and cervix, so I think that has helped. Also since the day after surgery, I have walked every day. Sometimes only to the corner and back if you don't feel up to much. But some days, I was amazed at how good it felt to do more walking. Just stay active, and eat right and you will do fine. Good luck!
