Hi I'' new here. Large fibroids/ retroverted uterus bladder problems

Hi,
I'm new to this site and just wondered if anyone has experienced similar symptoms to me. I have a 10cm anterior fibroid in the wall of my already retroverted uterus. I'm scheduled for a hysterectomy as a laparoscopy has confirmed it's pressing on my bowel and bladder causing lots of issues. My main symptom is the inability to pass urine, and when I can its small amounts but my bladder isn't completely emptied. I think this causes spasms and the feeling that I still need to wee. It's worse (in fact significantly worse to the point that I can't wee at all) when I can't pass wind, and the fibroid blocks the rectum. Has anyone else experienced similar symptoms and were their symptoms improved significantly with hysterectomy?
I'm keeping my cervix and one ovary as they are healthy and I was advised it would help prevent a prolapse and off set the menopause.
It's a big decision and advice will be helpful. I'm also very worried my bladder will never be the same again x

I had 9 fibroids--2 huge ones and 1 pressing on my bladder, which resulted in similar symptoms to yours. I am only 4+ weeks out and I can tell you that things are already better. I am not getting up multiple times in the night to pee, not feeling like I am retaining urine after I go, not having to go constantly... At this point it is still very early, but my body feels human again. I also had mine laparscopically and kept my cervix. Good luck!
