Help, scared & sad...

I'M having a hysterectomy on Dec. 10 and I'm scared, I'm not sure if I should do this. I had three c- section 1992, 2006 and 2008 after my last child I started having a sharp pain in my lower left side, after a lot of test I had a laparoscopy last year for endiometriosis, a hemorrage cyst and possible adenomyosis, my pain went away for 4 months, then I started getting them again but worst, sometimes I looked like I was 5months pregnant, and my pain was all over, in my lower back, my left leg etc. I had another laparoscopy last month and now my dr. said that a hysterectomy was the best for me, I went to get another opinion and the dr. agreed! I'm 35yrs. old and done having kids, but I feel sad even though my periods were painful it makes me sad that I wont have it anymore, not having my family in this country makes it more sad and difficult to me. plesase help me understand that is going to be ok thanks!

Re: "Help"

I can't make you feel better about how your feeling all i can say is your not alone, My surgery is on next Monday and i am scared to. But as far as all i have read i will be happy to have my life back after all these years of pain. ready to do things with my kids that the pain has kept me from. I am 34 and not excited about getting everything removed but will be relieved when the pain is gone. You have to do what is best for your health. And just think vacations and holidays and everything else will be so much better without a period getting in the way. I have read on here about women having a party to say goodbye to the periods. I wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery in what ever you decide to do.

It is hard to deal with but you have to decide what is right for you and your family. I'm 31 and had a TAH/LSO last Monday. It will be nice to no longer have all my 'female' issues and everyone has said how much better I'll feel in the long run!
