Menopausal, Fibroids, Heavy Bleeding, Anemia..suggestions?

Hi! I realize I am chiming in a little late here. I am new to this forum. I had a UFE 4/14 for two 6-7 cm fibroids. I had a nearly identical situation - I could have written the original post. I actually asked for a hysterectomy. My gynecologist refused as he considered it a last resort. He was certain my problem was from the fibroids, and that the fibroids needed to be addressed, not the whole uterus. The radiologist who did the procedure is absolutely certain, based on the type and location of one of my fibroids and how much it was distorting my uterus, and how vascular it was (I think the UFE was a little complicated), that I will have dramatic improvement. It will be a while before I know for sure. Assuming things go as they say they will, I am happy I went with this approach. It is no walk in the park, but I still have my uterus, and the recovery is much easier than for a hysterectomy.

So, I would recommend looking further. As an aside, I asked a friend who is a gyn. He said if I were his wife, he would not recommend the hysterectomy. Especially since the fibroids added a level of complexity to the surgery, and there was sure to be blood loss which I couldn't afford.
