How much pain is normal a little over 2+ weeks post hysterectomy?
A bit over 2 weeks out and I have good and bad days, and good and bad parts of the day. In addition to the hysterectomy/salpingectomy, endo was excised from my c-section scar, ovarian fossa and pelvic peritoneum.
I still have a fair amount of pain inside, especially with passing some gas and occasional tailbone discomfort with any bearing down (with urination at times); and some sciatica. Wondering if this sounds familiar/typical?

Re: How much pain is normal a little over 2+ weeks?
Sounds exactly like what I experienced at two weeks. It was pretty bad actually. I'm 22 days out and still having a lot of weakness and discomfort but I think it's normal.
Wishing you the best!

Re: How much pain is normal a little over 2+ weeks?
Yes, what you describes sounds typical for this point in recovery. You've probably seen it mentioned that recovery has to be thought of in terms of weeks. 2+ weeks is in very much in the midst of it, and you're still your doctor's patient for several more weeks. I didn't start turning the corner until 4 weeks, and even then I couldn't stand long, sit upright long nor bounce up and down a flight of stairs. That's also when I realized I'd not turned the corner earlier like I thought I had! I was still taking ibuprofen semi-regularly, and I kept acetaminophen at the ready just in case.
When pain is the topic, pain levels mean different things to different people. I usually refer Sisters to this article on Communicating Pain After Hysterectomy so we have a common scale (when someone says their pain is a 10, that's unconscious on our scale!). At this point, around a 4 or less, perhaps a 5. Some women have a lower threshold for pain, or had more done during surgery and may need narcotics longer to enable them to rest. Any increasing pain without an explanation, such as overdoing it, should be investigated.

Re: How much pain is normal a little over 2+ weeks?
I learned the hard way that overdoing it can bring the pain back pretty badly. In about week 3, I felt pretty good so I did some minor cooking, like chopping and then sat at the counter for a couple of hours. The next day I had the worst pain since day 1. It was the only day where I needed a nap too so I was definitely fatigued. In the evening I had what felt like really sharp gas pains. So I'm guessing that I overdid it, tissue swelled and it resulted in the pain. The pain was much better on the 2nd day but really reminded me that I needed to take it easy!

Re: How much pain is normal a little over 2+ weeks?
Thank you! I bet I did overdo it a little. It also seems like any amount of constipation or gas really makes my insides uncomfortable. I stopped stool softeners after stopping percocet, but I took one last night and today has been better. That said, I think I overdid it because I was feeling good and might have walked around too much..the muscles around my tailbone are now tight.
