I sound silly but i just don’t know

Hi,

I have had life long issues.. but have been lucky. I have had multiple miscarriages when i was in younger. I have had 2 births and since my youngest son I have been incapable of getting pregnant again. My periods were never regular, it went from maybe once every few months at maybe a light pink to a nightmare of painful (horror movie amount), at times every 2 weeks and at its worst it lasted an entire month had a week of nothing and back into the inferno of pain and bleeding.

Doctor visit after doctor visit all confirming this isn’t normal. Years of family doctors refusing to send me to a gynaecologist for the issue. Multiple emergency room visits with no answer. Than I go to a walk-in clinic by my work during a month long marathon and they have a gynaecologist working for them. I get given progesterone to stop my cycle and I have to admit I have not felt that energetic or wonderful in years. I get told my body doesn’t create the hormone properly and never has. The bleeding occurs the way it does because my uterus sheds at different times in sections. It’s what causes the clots, pain, bloating all the fun stuff. I get an IUD (got the .01% chance of getting infection that put me in urgent care afterwards) with the missing hormone that was suppose to last 5 years and well it barely lasted 2. I went from peaceful and fine to right back where I was for bleeding and an urgent care visit today because of the pain and bloating that is happening like clockwork every 5 minutes that feel like Braxton hicks more than cramps.

Now I am on painkillers wondering what the hell am I doing? Aside from being told it’s a hormone thing and the tissue loss/changes can lead to cancer what do I actually know about what is happening to my body? am I sure this is the right thing? What if I have the hysterectomy and somehow still have the issues? What if this makes the hormone issue worse?

I feel partly like i just don’t know what is happening. Is this normal?

Surgical consult/introduction is june 15

Re: I sound silly but i just don’t know

Sounds like a fibroid. Even very small fibroids can cause profuse bleeding.
